Michael Nolan graduated from Ohio University in 1965 and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University in 1969. He has worked as an assistant to the Ohio Attorney General, Athens City Prosecutor, was elected Athens County Prosecutor in 1972, has been an acting Judge for the Athens County Municipal Court and served as the Nelsonville City Prosecutor. He began his own private practice in 1971 in Nelsonville, Ohio, where he continues to practice law. His favoured areas of practice are real esate and probate law.
Michael was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in Applied Public Service from Hocking Technical College in 1976 for his assistance in the development of its police science program and was recognized by the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives as the Outstanding Person of the Year of Nelsonville in 1982 after selection by the Nelsonville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Michael and his wife Susan reside in Nelsonville, and have raised three children, Amy, Matthew and Adam. They are the proud grandparents of ten wonderful grandchildren and welcomed their first great-grandchild in 2021.
Sierra L. Meek
Sierra Meek is a 2002 graduate of Ohio University and received her Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School in 2005. During her studies at Capital University Law School, she completed an internship with the Franklin County Domestic Relations Court, with Teen Court through the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, and with the Dispute Resolution Section of the Ohio Supreme Court.
In addition to her work at Nolan & Meek. Co. LPA, she has been active in her roles as an Ohio Supreme Court qualified mediator since 2004 and as an Ohio Supreme Court qualified guardian ad litem since 2006. Sierra is also on the attorney panel of the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. Sierra has previously worked as a Magistrate for the Athens County Juvenile Court, as a Solicitor for the Village of Zaleski, Ohio, and as counsel for SEPTA.
Sierra and her family have made Nelsonville, Ohio their home since 2004.
Anna Mason began her legal career as a paralegal, receiving her paralegal certificate from the Tri-County Adult Career Center in 1993. After more than 20 years as a paralegal, she decided to further her career by becoming an attorney. Anna graduated Cum Laude from Ohio University in 2016 and went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School in July of 2020. She also earned her license as an Ohio title insurance agent in July of 2020.
During her studies at Capital Law, Anna was recognized for outstanding achievement in the area of civil pretrial proceedings and was awarded one of two Ambassador Awards, awarded to a member of the graduating class who displays particular commitment to the profession and represents the mission, values and spirit of the law school. She also worked as an Ohio Supreme Court qualified Guardian Ad Litem from 2009 through 2014.
Anna has been with Nolan & Meek for more than 20 years and works primarily in the areas of real estate and probate law. She resides in Logan and enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.
